📱Tech news💻:

- Intel today are now making the Arc GPU series available worldwide. Do check your local retailer/e-tailer to see if you really can snag one (or more) Intel Arc GPU today.

- Starlink were now made available in Japan, China refused to let the service on sale in Taiwan, and Ukraine’s request to let Crimea have access to Starlink were rejected due to “nuclear threat”.

- [Rumor/Leak(?)] YuuKi_Ans, a notable hardware leaker, said that Intel Xeon server CPU, Diamond Rapids, will differ in term of CXL 3.0 and PCIe 6.0, compared to Granite Rapids’s CXL 2.0, PCIe 5.0 and PFR 4.0.

- [Rumor] Kyle Bennett from HardOCP.com suggested that AMD Navi 31 RDNA 3 series might support DisplayPort 2.1 interface. He said this as he got consistent info from his sources, while RDNA 3 may slated for second half of December of this year’s launch according to ECSM, and RDNA 3 were said to be slower compared to RTX 4000 series in term of real-time ray tracing (RTRT) capability, according to Enthusiast Citizen, a Chinese tech blogger.

- Jeges, a member forum of Overclock.net, claimed that he got Intel Core i9–13900KF CPU ahead of 20 October 2022’s retail launch. It could sustain 5.7 to 5.8 GHz with proper cooling, and able to get 40,255 points in Cinebench R23 benchmark.

- Latest Nvidia driver version 522.25 claimed to bump the performance in games, ranging from 5% to 24%, compared to previous driver.

- Microsoft unveils three Surface product: Surface Pro 9, Surface Laptop 5 and Surface Studio 2 Plus. It came with ARM or Intel CPU lineup too, and Microsoft releases adaptive accessibility peripheral for everyone, including the physical disabled person, ranging from $40 to $60.

- Microsoft also releases patches that are ranging from moderate to severe and two day-zero security vulnerabilities bug that impacted for Windows(es) and SharePoint.

- Android security audit for Mullvad VPN discovers that Google’s Android will not switch off it’s connection point to Google datacenter when going to connect with VPN, potentially risking Android phone with leaked exact IP address and phone details.

- Samsung Galaxy S23’s 5000 mAh battery were pictured, shared by prominent hardware leaker, Ice Universe.

- Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg recognises Apple’s AR headset as it’s threat, will ensure that the price sold will break-even profit for Meta while keeping it’s price ($1.5k) lower than Apple’s AR headset ($2k–$2.5k).

- Steam pushes a new revamped update for it’s Steam Mobile app years after the app’s last update, features modern UI (user interface), Remote Download, to name a few. Try download it and let us know in the comment section regarding the update.

- Despite Nvidia’s Verified Priority Access program to let the user buy RTX 4090 card, it was scalped hard by the scalper due to mass-purchasing. However, the hope isn’t lost at all, as Newegg, the retailer, ensures to buyers that they always will stock up the graphics card. So please, be patient and don’t give the scalper any money that will differentiate you to able to purchase new PC parts, or nothing at all.

- Nvidia’s upcoming Hopper H100 server/workstation GPU were supported for OpenGPU’s Linux kernel module, cited from GitHub release changelog 520.61.05.

- [Rumor/Leak] Oppo Reno9 series were pictured, the rear camera appeared to be bumped pretty nicely, mirroring OnePlus 10 Pro design, according to Jinan Digital x Bald Panda via Weibo.

- Apparently, power consumption of Google’s Pixel 7 Pro (measured at 6W) were not good compared to Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Plus (measured at 4W), when at maximum brightness of 1000 nits, probably due to Pixel 7 Pro’s screen panel.

🎮Video game news🎯:

- TechSpot have the detail regarding DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) 3’s Frame Generation method. In summary, it generates artifact frame whenever generating a new frame, and does causes latency going up compared to DLSS method alone.

- Sony and Microsoft spends billion of dollars to retain millions of subscribers/gamers to keep subscribing game pass, as also evidenced from recently leaked NDA document between Snail’s Ark 2 and Microsoft’s three-year free game agreement.

- No More Heroes 3 were released on PC, but featured Nintendo Switch version graphics detail, with uncapped frame rates though. The publisher, Xseed, said that they will releases more patches to enhance the game detail, including draw distance.

- A short trailer of God of War Ragnarök for PS5 were released, featuring 3D Audio and Haptic Feedback. A bundle of the game with the regular PS5 will be release on November 8 this year.

- Two prototype of NES games were surfaced online on EBay auction, capturing the attention of games preservationist around the globe. The games in question: The Battlefields of Napoleon (U.S. version) and Scanner, a one-level game designed to test out the Power Glove peripheral.

- Nvidia’s GeForce Now gaming cloud service were available on Chromebook, eleven games were now added into the service: Asterigos: Curse of the Stars (Steam), Kamiwaza: Way of the Thief (Steam), LEGO Bricktales (Steam and Epic Games), Ozymandias: Bronze Age Empire Sim (Steam), PC Building Simulator 2 (Epic Games), The Last Oricru (Steam, October 13), Rabbids: Party of Legends (Ubisoft, October 13), The Darkest Tales (Steam, October 13), Scorn (Steam and Epic Games, October 14), Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Closed Beta (Steam, available from October 14, 11:00 GMT to October 17, 05:00 GMT), and Dual Universe (Steam).

- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales system specs were revealed (spoiler: just need slightly beefier PC to play it), coming to Steam on 18 November 2022.

- Ukrainian indie game studio, N-Game Studios, shared their story of their early day of video game development and publishing, back in 2014.

🚀Space news🌌:

- Angosat-2 were launched to geostationary earth orbit (GEO) with Russia’s Proton-M rocket from Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, on Wednesday, 12 October 2022 at 15:00 GMT (18:00 Moscow time).

- NASA’s TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite) currently in safe mode after a computer glitch happened on 10 October this year, all instrumentation are safe. Currently, the team are looking for the solution and fix it to power it back up in the few days to come.

- European Space Agency (ESA)’s Solar Orbiter captured numerous photo of the sun between 20 September - 10 October 2022, in preparation for perihelion close-up photo of the sun.

- NASA’s meatball logo on the SpaceX’s Crew-5 mission appears distorted and stretched. The reason is yet to be known.

- EarthSky released an article regarding Mercury’s sodium tail and how to capture it using your camera properly.

- Despite Firefly Alpha’s partial success of it’s second flight, Firefly still insist that they succeeded it, cited “first stage and second stage performance was in-line with our flight two requirements and therefore successful”.

- Researcher accidentally discovers that WASP-76b and WASP-121b atmosphere were found to also contain barium, 2.5 times heavier than iron, despite both planet are rich with iron.
