- Frtizchens Fritz, a close-up chip photographer has just released infrared images of Intel’s Core i9 13900K CPU, highlighting some microscopic details of the Intel’s upcoming chip.
- The Verge reported (via PCGamer) that Microsoft nearly cut the Adaptive Controller during development, when funding cuts were being made to projects. The only reason it ended up seeing the light of day was because of how hard people working within the company fought for it to stick around.
- Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said during Meta’s Q3 earnings call that the company plans to launch its next-generation Meta Quest headset, tentatively known as the Meta Quest 3, for consumers sometime in 2023.
- Intel Xeon Sapphire Rapids-SP is being shipped to clients, as of now; Emerald Rapids ramp to continue in the meantime.
- [Leaked] AMD Ryzen 7 7700 is 10% slower than the 7700X in multi-core test, while 7700 is 3% slower than 7700X in single-core test in leaked Geekbench 5 benchmark.
- Linux gaming benchmarks conducted by Phoronix show the AMD’s Zen 4 CPU beats the Intel Core i9–13900K at low and medium-quality graphics presets. However, at ultra, the Raptor Lake flagship performs similarly but not entirely on the same level as even the Ryzen 7 7700X. This is due to a driver issue where the API overhead limits Intel’s hybrid core processors.
- Motorola Razr 2022, a revision of it’s initial flip smartphone, finally launched in the U.K. for £950 ($1,103.73), slightly pricy when compared to its initial China-only release, with U.S. markets being confirmed at a later date.
- Project Volterra’s Windows Dev Kit 2023, it is now available for purchase at a cost of £579 ($672.69), aims to unifies Windows and Arm. It is currently available in eight countries: the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Japan, and China.
- [Rumour] Igor’sLAB reports that NVIDIA has notified all AICs (Add-in-Card) partners to collect RTX 4090 affected by ‘melted’ 16-pin power connectors and ship them directly to the HQ.
- Colorful launches GeForce RTX 3060 8GB and RTX 3060 Ti G6X cards, lowest official pricing confirmed to be 2,399 RMB ($330).
- GALAX provides the first side-by-side comparison featuring new RTX 3060 Ti SKU. It compared with RTX 3070, with games benchmark vague result of Spider-Man Remastered (81FPS’s RTX 3060 Ti vs 75FPS’s RTX 3070) and Cyberpunk 2077 (70FPS’s RTX 3060 Ti vs 61FPS’s RTX 3070). As always, wait for independent reviewers first before buying it.
- AMD Ryzen 5 7725HS mobile CPU spotted in Geekbench, features Zen 2 architecture, sporting 8-core 16-thread. The processor scored 1,106 points in single-core test, and 6,929 points in multi-core. According to this data, Ryzen 5 7725HS part is respectively 6% and 6.5% faster than 4800HS.
- AMD wakes up to Intel’s multi-threaded advantage, thanks to Intel’s hybrid core, while Ryzen 7 7800X, a 10-core 20-thread CPU, and Ryzen 3 7300X, a “Zen 4” 4-core 8-thread, were spotted too in Geekbench.
- Nothing Phone (1) receives new features and optimisations courtesy of Nothing OS 1.1.6.
- [Leaked] Complete datasheets for three Redmi Note 12 series models have leaked (via miupdateph on Weibo), a day before their launch. It consists of the Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus and the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition. For some reason, the Redmi Note 12 is missing, which is expected to be the fourth initial member in the Redmi Note 12 series.
- Microsoft releases stable Android 12L update (3.2GB of size) for Surface Duo and Surface Duo 2 with new features and improvements, such as improved image quality, bundled with a Windows-inspired wallpaper, included a dedicated pen menu for the Surface Slim Pen 2, and optimised battery usage and performance in Microsoft Teams.
- Nothing ear (stick) TWS earbuds launch with a new design and improved battery life for US$99, CA$149, €119, £99 or INR 8,499, and can be pre-ordered on nothing.tech from now. It will also be available through their partner stores in “limited” numbers from 28 October 2022, or can be ordered from 4 November 2022.
- Windows 11’s new update is causing issues for AMD Ryzen 9 CPUs (Windows thread scheduler were confused with two CCDs, that it caused game such as Metro: Exodus lowered by 30% performance with two CCDs compared to only one CCD enabled), and Nvidia GPUs (visual anomaly, 100% usage at idle; already fixed).
- Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, allegedly booked secret meeting in Taiwan, meeting with TSMC to secure 3nm wafers for future Nvidia’s GPU production.
- [Rumour/Leaked] According to a new report, Google is testing a device with the same dimensions as the Pixel 7 Pro, but with an improved ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The leak includes display parameters for the unannounced phone, measures 151mm tall by 71mm wide, with a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels, matched exactly with Pixel 7 Pro. Google could tease its next phones, Pixel 8 Pro, in the late spring or summer of 2023, if the pattern stays the same.
- Dormant Colors campaign injects (infects) 1 million Chrome browser users with revenue generating malware, which also hijacked search result with affiliated search partner.
- See Tickets, an online event ticket vendor that services both Europe and North America, has disclosed a major data breach affecting its payment processing portals. While the data breach notice is light on details, See Tickets customers should know that their payment information, including names, addresses, zip codes and credit card credential, from 25 June 2019 to 8 January 2022, may now be in the hands of cybercriminals as a result of this breach.

- Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition and Age of Empires 4 will be getting cloud gaming support and controller support and crossplay with console friends. Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition will be release on 31 January 2023 and sometime later that year for Age of Empires 4.
- Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, the mythological and locust-ridden next project from Team Ninja (in collaboration with Dynasty Warriors creator Koei Tecmo), slated to be release on 3 March 2023 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, on PC via Windows and Steam, and will be available day one with Xbox Game Pass on console & PC.
- Jamie Walker and Sefton Hill, co-founder of Rocksteady, are leaving the studio just months ahead of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League’s release, citing that they are starting “a new adventure together in games.” Rocksteady’s director of production Nathan Burlow will take over as studio director, while Darius Sadeghian will step into the role of studio product director.
- Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is now fully playable from start to finish, reaching the alpha milestone. The developers, BioWare, can now start to focus on improving graphics and gameplay.
- Xbox head, Phil Spencer and other tech executive says the metaverse (read: corporatized metaverse) is like ‘a poorly built video game’. Not surprising, considering they too are out of touch regarding the history and accessibility of metaverse. It existed long time ago, such as Second Life, Runescape, Minecraft, VRChat, MMO games, to name a few.
- Callisto Protocol were cancelled in Japan after devs refuse to make ratings board changes for the game set by Computer Entertainment Rating Organisation (CERO). They will also refund Japanese player due to that reason.
- DC Comics antihero Black Adam has been delayed for MultiVersus game (originally slated to be included this week), with Player First Games saying he’s “not quite ready” to join the platform fighter yet due to few tweaks and bug fixes of the character behind the scene.
- Watch out for McPixel 3 (McPixel (1) does exist for $5 on Steam and Itch.io, McPixel 2 doesn’t for whatever reason), slated to be release on 14 November 2022 on Steam and GOG.
- Sony has revealed the free games for PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra and Premium/Deluxe subscribers for November 2022, which are Nioh 2, Lego Harry Potter Collection and Heavenly Bodies, downloadable on November 1.
- Epic’s CEO, Tim Sweeney, calls Apple’s new iPhone NFT policy “insanity” and “brazen monopoly rent-seeking” in a Twitter post.
- Harvard scientists invent gripping robot with soft, inflatable tentacles, capable of pneumatically actuated — in the off state, as they hang freely, allowing an operator to drape them over the target, even the smaller one.
- Scientists at the National University of Singapore and Tsinghua University develop mouthguard input device, cost only $70 to make, that responds to bite force. After success of occlusive patterns test with 98 percent accuracy, they are looking to test the mouthguard in real-world settings, like care centers or nursing homes. Meanwhile, the team is working on patenting their technology and developing a second-generation mouthguard. The new iteration will feature improved control speeds and adaptability to “irregularly-arranged” teeth.

- Space.com collected a lot of photos from volunteer who shot the photo of Orionid meteor shower of 2022. Have a look and enjoy the great pictures.
- Lafayette, a Mars meteorite found between at the early 20th century, contains deoxynivalenol (DON) toxin that makes pigs and humans sick and vomit.
- NASA’s Lucy spacecraft captured two images, taken on October 13 (first image) and October 15 (second image) as Lucy began its approach toward Earth for a gravity-assisted speed boost on October 16. It help calibrate Lucy’s Terminal Tracking Camera (T2CAM) system, which features two identical cameras to pinpoint and track target asteroidsat high speeds. The first image, highlights the distance between the Earth and the moon. At the time, the two bodies sitting at opposite edges of the frame were about 890,000 miles (1.4 million kilometers) away from Lucy. The second photo, snapped two days later, is a close-up shot of the Earth as Lucy approached, taken at a distance of roughly 380,000 miles (620,000 km). In the image, Hadar, Ethiopia, is just visible on the left-most edge of the planet.
- NASA’s Voyager chief project scientist, Ed Stone retires after 50 years, thanked everyone around the globe for following the journey together. With that resignation, Linda Spilker will succeed Stone, becoming the Voyager mission’s second-ever project scientist. She was a member of the Voyager science team during the planet flyby era before leaving to do other things, including becoming project scientist for NASA’s Cassini Saturn mission. Spilker rejoined Voyager as deputy project scientist in 2021.
- The massive gravity of galaxy cluster MACS0647 (either could be two galaxies or two star clusters) is gravitationally lensing several other systems in a new James Webb Space Telescope photos, published in a new research paper on Wednesday, October 26.
- A Netherlands university, Leiden University, has removed a former observatory head, Tim de Zeeuw, from his post after allegations of “extremely unacceptable behavior” by several staff’s complaint, according to a report, on Wednesday 26. With that, he will not be allowed to return to the university and will no longer be allowed to supervise Ph.D. candidates from that university.
- Earlier this year (2022), the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine recommended that the next flagship mission in planetary science — costing around $4 billion — should go to Uranus, with launch window targeting between 2030 and 2034. If missed the target year window, they have to wait until 2050 before sending space probe (and perhaps lander) to Uranus.
- The High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program facility (HAARP) is in the midst of a wide-ranging science campaign that will see the facility bounce signals off the moon and Jupiter.
- Earth’s magnetic field converted into sounds for your listening pleasure. The team from the Technical University of Denmark used data from ESA (European Space Agency)’s Swarm satellites, as well as other sources, and used these magnetic signals to manipulate and control a sonic representation of the core field. The result is a cacophony of rumbling, scraping, and chirps that oscillates over the five-minute recording.
