- Boston Dynamics and several other robotic companies, in an open letter titled “General Purpose Robots Should Not Be Weaponized”, reminded everyone that they should not arm their robotic creation with weapon(s) and they do not condone any such action of it.
- Roblox, Meta, Snap and Discord were sued in a lawsuit filing by the young girl due to addiction on using the platform, having worse behavioral state than when never even use it before in the first place, platform were constantly rife with predators that constantly exploits children, and under California’s Unfair Competition Law, also engaging with unlawful business practises and unjust enrichment for the tech companies involved in the lawsuit.
- The White House just released a bill to regulate the usage of artificial intelligence. 5 main points: users should be “protected from unsafe or ineffective” automated systems, and tools should be expressly “designed to proactively protect you from harms.”, discriminatory uses of algorithms and other AI should be prohibited, and tools should be developed with an emphasis on equity, companies should build privacy protections into products to prevent “abusive data practices” and users should have “agency” over how their data is used, systems should be transparent so that users “know that an automated system is being used” and understand how it’s affecting them, users should be able to “opt out of automated systems in favor of a human alternative, where appropriate.”. It is not yet fully enforced as of now, tech companies can choose to follow the bill or not.
- Fandom (previously known as Wikia), has bought more sites, such as GameSpot, Metacritic, GameFAQs, to name a few. This kinda debatable, as the Internet has become more centralized as days, months and years passed by.
- Google will launch the Pixel 7 for $599 and Pixel 7 Pro for $899 on October 13 this year. Revamped camera (better resolution and apecture), new chipset (Tensor G2) and security coprocessor (Titan M2), bigger RAM (8GB for Pixel 7 and 12GB for Pixel 7 Pro) and storage (128GB/256GB/512GB), better screen spec (using Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for it’s LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) OLED (organic light emit diode) screen), faster charging time (50% in just 30 minutes of charging using 30W charger) and rated for beyond 24-hours battery (72-hours using extended battery saver mode) for it’s 5000mAh battery.

- Samsung just pushed recent update for Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro, six weeks after launch. So far, R510XXU0AVI7 update code have improved stability and reliability (unspecified what is it).
- Do you need more I/O ports for your Steam Deck (be it for your content creation, work productivity, etc.)? Now, you can buy Steam Dock accessories for Steam Deck for $89 (RM413.85 in Malaysia). - According to Elon Musk from his Twitter post, Tesla will finally bringing Tesla Semi Class 8 all-electric truck into production this month after 3 years late into production. First customer would be Pepsi, which ordered 100 truck of it, and should be receive it’s first truck on 1 December this year. Tesla currently built the charging station in Pepsi factories in Modesto, which have output of 1MW and powered by solar. Tesla Semi Class 8 truck can be charge to 80% or 643.74 kilometers (400 miles) journey in just 30 minutes.
- According to Financial Times report, shredding old, discarded servers and hard drives (whether it be HDD or SSD), simply are not worth the time, cost and production effort. This is because these obsolete tech could be properly done with data erasure and reuse again for consumer market, and while 70% of the shredded material can be recycle again for next hardware production, these 30% discarded material could cause constant need to mine the rare earth material again, which will emit more carbon dioxide in the process (and the same being said for recycled material).
- How does AMD Ryzen 7600X cooling perform with stock cooler? Spoiler answer: good, if you have a good cooler, such as Spiral Wraith cooler, and you’d better just undervolt the CPU from 105W to 65W, as the benchmark score remain almost unaffected (only ~1% performance penalty for ~40% less energy usage, worth it).
- Nvidia thermal engineer, Malcom Gutenberg, in an exclusive interview with Gamers Nexus, revealed more prototype of RTX 4090 vapor chamber coolers and fan designs, and show the difference between RTX 3090 and RTX 4090 vapor chamber cross-section.

- XDA Developers has outlined that the most significant change between Google Tensor and Google Tensor G2 lies on GPU: it was powered ARM Mali-G710 MP07, which is 1.67 times more powerful than Google Tensor’s ARM Mali-G78 MP20. It also significantly revised the ISP and improved the TPU, which is 20% energy efficient and 60% more powerful than predecessor, and also minor bumped the CPU clock.
- Amazon decided to halt further project of Scout, a delivery robot field that was started nearly four years ago, that should be able to send item to any residential area, and relocate the employee involved with the project that matched their skill and expertise somewhere else.
- Google released Pixel Watch, a smartwatch competitor to Samsung, Apple and Garmin. It was among the first smartwatch to be fitted with Google Wear OS 3.5, after Samsung Galaxy Watch 5.
- According to the analyst Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), Samsung will release the Galaxy S23 series in four different colours: Beige, Black, Green and Light Pink.

- For whatever reason, instead of Ubisoft being honest (since when Ubisoft did actually care for it’s player base, other than once upon a time ago?) about Far Cry 6 complete DLC/season bundle package, they decide to give it a name: Far Cry 6 Game of the Year (GOTY) Edition. And it priced for $120. What you should do instead: wait for huge discount Steam sale, do not buy the current overpriced tag.
- Super Mario Bros. the movie trailer has been released at New York Comic-Con, and now on YouTube too. It’s currently in post-production, with Universal Pictures and Nintendo as co-financer, and Illumination will be responsible with the animation together with the co-financer, set to be release on 7 April 2023.
- sultim_t, a well-known modder, has published a new real-time ray tracing (path tracing specifically) mod for Quake I on the GitHub page. Give it a try and let us know in the comment section how do you feel about it.

- When PCGamer reach out to Electronic Arts (EA), EA representative said that Dead Space remake will be native on Steam, no more using Origin client (yay!).

- SpaceX Crew-5 team, with Endurance space capsule, has finally arrived at the International Space Station (ISS) at 17:01 EST (21:01 GMT), completed 10 minutes later, while flying over the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of West Africa. The hatches between the two opened around 18:45 EST (22:45 GMT), later in the ISS’s orbiting lab 10 minutes later.
- 2 years later after the launch of ‘Learning Lunchbox’ science kit by Columbus’ Centre of Science and Industry (COSI), they’ve been attracting funding attention from NASA, the Office of Vice-President Kamala Harris, and government entities around the U.S. It also was advertised by Miss America 2020 winner, Virginia’s Camille Schrier. Due to partnerships with U.S. federal departments, now they have variety of learning lunchboxes: energy kit (funded by U.S. Department of Energy), water kit (funded by Ohio Department of Natural Resources), engineering kit (funded by Honda), and Hyperloop kit (funded by Virgin Group).
- More than 5 years after National Air and Space Museum closed for renovation, more exhibit spaces will be open to the public: two space-related galleries (“Destination Moon” and “Exploring the Planets”), four aviation-related galleries (“America by Air,” “Early Flight,” “Thomas W. - CAPSTONE CubeSat microwave oven-sized spacecraft, weighed 25 kilograms (55 pounds), designed to evaluate the orbital stability for future Artemis moon mission, have gained partial control of the spacecraft. NASA currently still looking and diagnosing the issue to fully regain the three-axis onboard control (that is yaw, pitch and roll, used to define the movement in the air and space), issue which first persisted on 8 September this year, just after initial engine burn, causing the spacecraft to enter into safe mode.
- SpaceX scrubbed Intelsat’s Galaxy 33 and 34 due to auto-abort command initiated just 30 seconds before launch. It will resume to try again 24 hours later (pretty standard for any GEO satellite) on 7 October 2022 at 19:06 EST (23:06 GMT). Both satellite were built by Northrop Grumman in 2020 and will operate in the upper C-band spectrum. Galaxy 33 will replace the role of Galaxy 15 (launched on 13 October 2005 in Guiana Space Center, aboarding the Ariane 5GS rocket configuration), which recently lost due to space weather event, inserting on 133 degrees west longitude. Galaxy 34 will accompany Galaxy 33, which will be inserting on 129 degrees west longitude.
- Ars Technica summarises weekly spaceflight event: real status of Firefly Alpha second orbital launch attempt (somewhat successful, but instead of circular orbit, proper 300 km altitude, it reaches 200 km altitude instead due to underperforming rocket engine), SpinLaunch tenth suborbital flight test, using their fast launch centrifuge, Virgin Orbit’s preparation for first historic orbital flight of LauncherOne rocket from U.K. in Cornwall, England, ABL Space targeting mid-October flight for their first RS1 rocket from Kodiak spaceport, Alaska, carrying two OmniTeq satellite, which will demostrate the capability of OmniTeq’s Equalizer deployer and Varisat HF payload operation in space, NASA reliance on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 for future NASA mission after winning the bid (such as Sentinel-6B, Europa Clipper and Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope (NGRST for short, this space observer craft is interesting, as two (NGRST is one of it, another one is left unused for now) of the supposed Earth observer spy satellite originally built for NRO’s (National Reconnaisance Office) reconnaisance spy program, before it handed those over to NASA in 2012 after the cancellation), India’s GSLV Mk-III (essentially a modern Titan IIIE/IV version counterpart) readies for the first commercial mission for 36 satellite batch of OneWeb satellite launches, South Korea seeking for alternative to Russian rocket (presumably Soyuz or Proton-M rocket), which leaving SpaceX’s Falcon 9 & Heavy and ArianeSpace’s Ariane 5 (and upcoming Ariane 6 rocket) as the only choice for their future mission, Falcon Heavy launch in more than 3 years after it’s last flight, carrying USSF-44 classified satellite, and later 5 more launches in the next 12 months (one year), Ariane 6’s Vinci upper stage engine (will replace HM-5B upper stage engine, in use since 1979 until 2003 and since 2005 until this day, with original HM7(A) upper stage operational in 1979 until 1986, which both of it capable of one-time engine ignition) which present on Ariane 5 rocket) successful demonstration on multiple engine ignition and shutdown and preparation for Ariane 6’s first stage hot-fire test with it’s newly-built launch pad dedicated for Ariane 6, and Artemis II first stage engine set, Engine E2047 (already flew on 15 space shuttle mission), Engine E2059 (already flew on 5 space shuttle mission), and Engine E2062 & E2063 (newly-built engine with mix of some previously flown hardware). - Space exploration advocates wants to ensure that all these anti-satellite (ASAT) weapon couldn’t be use in total to confine the humanity’s quench for future spaceflight that might threatening human to standstill in Earth due to Kessler’s syndrome acceleration, as previously happened on 2007’s China ASAT test on Fengyun (FY)-1C, 2008’s U.S. ASAT shotdown of malfunctioned USA-193 due to concern of toxic hypergolic propellant effect towards the environment, 2019’s Indian ASAT test on Microsat-R, and 2021’s Russian ASAT test on Kosmos 1408.

- Nord Stream 1 & 2 leaked gas pipelines pictured by Pléiades Neo satellite, only released about 79,000 kilograms (174,000 pounds) per hour, while total methane gas trapped in both the pipeline after the shutdown could be 300,000 tonne.

- According to led researcher Katarina Miljkovic from ARC Future Fellow, School of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Curtin University, using InSight’s static lander’s seismic & acoustic instrument, and Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) spacecraft, they were able to record and confirmed four meteoroid impact events on Mars. It was published on Nature Geoscience for your viewing pleasure too.
- Look out for the night sky on October 8 of Mercury’s highest point, which is far from Sun.
- Rocket Lab will launch Electron rocket for “It Argos Up From Here” mission on October 8 at 06:09 a.m. NZT (October 7 at 17:09 GMT) from Rocket Lab’s private Launch Complex 1B (LC-1B), Mahia Peninsula in New Zealand, which will carries Argos-4. It was built by General Atomics based on ‘Gazella’ satellite bus design, and to cite from Space.com, “it will be part of the Argos worldwide Data Collection System (Argos DCS) — a constellation that collects, processes, and releases environmental data around the world” and “Argos DCS is part of a joint agreement between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the French Space Agency’s Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES). Established in 1978, the Argos satellite constellation currently consists of seven operational satellites, with the oldest having been launched in 1998”. It will be placed into Sun-synchronous orbit (SSO) of 850 km altitude, which will cover a view of 5,000 square kilometers for orbital period of 100 minutes.
