Hello everyone, on the fourth chapter, weekend edition of the Techy Sum, volume 1 number 4, here’s the news that you’ve been looking for:

📱Tech news💻:

- For the upcoming RTX 4090 card, Nvidia AIB (add-in board) manufacturer, such as Asus, Gigabyte and Zotac recommend 1kW power supply unit (PSU), while Palit recommend 1.2kW PSU, which is not following Nvidia’s 850W PSU recommendation. This move may have something to do with the huge momentarily power spike whenever the card feel the need to use it.

- Microsoft, as an apparent response toward unhappy gamer with slower performance, recommends two procedure to fasten up Windows 11: disable HVCI (Memory Integrity; it would be risky to do so since it will expose your computer with more vulnerable malware and ransomware attack) and disable Virtual Machine Platform.

- According to VX-Underground and glowingfreak, Intel’s 12th Gen Alder Lake CPU (not yet fully verified, so far BIOS were known) source code were leaked following the hacking. Who’s responsible behind this is currently unknown.

- Intel and SiFive unveiled RISC-V’s Horse Creek platform, which the board design were inspired by Raspberry Pi and were built on Intel 4 (7 nm node process). See for yourself and let us know in the comment section on your thoughts.

- On a double news regarding Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), it was being said that their revenue might impacted due to Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) lower than expected revenue on quarter 3’s earning this year, but at the same time, Apple have to pay TSMC $110 per chip for A16 Bionic compared to $45.83 per chip for A15 Bionic, due to high cost of chip development for 5 nm compared to 7 nm.

- Snapchat and TikTok will be the pioneer for pushing the 10-bit HDR videos on Android’s Pixel 7 series by using Camera2 API, along with SDR dimming for using any normal UI function.

- Just like every other sketchy Android & iOS apps, if you do suspect that the app asked you bunch of other permissions to use basic functionality, please be careful, do not sign/login any of your credential (as it will expose your personal info to the hacker, which can extract your info and use it against you for any malicious intent, including but not limited to: black market data for sell, blackmailing, use it as a sockpuppet/bot net account, charge your bank account with non-existent offer, and so forth), and uninstall it immediately. Facebook (Meta; ironically one of the worst tech companies offender in terms of non-compliant personal data protection and constant user surveillance with tracker that bombard you with ads and sell it to other advertisers) has the detail regarding the issue.

- [Leaked benchmark] RTX 4080 16GB GPU card were able to hit almost similar RTX 4090’s (GPU clock of 3.135 GHz, consuming 492.8W) performance of the GPU clock of 3GHz with 1.4GHz memory clock when running on standard 3DMark’s Timespy with 350W default power load.

- [Leaked] Enermax’s PSU calculator reveals Nvidia and AMD card graphics processing unit (GPU) thermal design power (TDP) and PSU recommendation:

- Apple will not use in-house 5G modem chipset until 2025, in the meantime, according to MacRumors, it will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X75 5G modem chipset (4 nm process node) for Apple’s next iPhone 16.

- WCCFTech conducted recent interviews with Skyblivion’s (Skyrim mod) lead developer, Rebelzize, regarding his opinion on RTX Remix.

- [Leaked pricing] SCAN, an UK-based retailer, listed RTX 3060 Ti 8GB GDDR6X GPU for £369 ($409.09).

- Rivian recalls more than 12,000 vehicles for any manufactured cars between September 2021 until December 2022 due to the risk of the failing torqued steering knuckle fastener, which may cause excessive wheel camber or complete separation that can cause the driver to lose their control of the car, and may lead to accident, or worse case would be death.

- TSMC will have to compete with Samsung in term of capital expenditure and process node lead supremacy for chipmaking (shrinking and other tech innovation, such as 3D cache), as they’re in the trouble in term of earning profit due to Apple’s, AMD’s, Intel’s and Nvidia’s reduced chip demand.

🎮Video game news🎯:

- A Plague Tale: Requiem system recommendation is out. This time, the spec were pretty beefy and essentially as expected, as the developer supposedly able to use the power of real-time ray tracing technology. Will this spec worth your time and money to upgrade or buy a new PC is another question that you, yourself can answer.

- YouTuber ElAnalistaDeBits released a new benchmark video of Overwatch 2 performance on console (Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 (PS5)) and PC. It performed very well with no sweat at all.

- Silent Hill film director Christophe Gans, in an interview with French website, MaG — Movie and Game, said that there’s multiple project going on Konami’s Silent Hill games.

- Deathloop game & creative director, Dinga Bakaba, confirmed that Deathloop is a future depiction of Dishonored, which mean that both were canonically intertwine of Dishonored franchises.

- 40 years in game development, finally, a text command-based adventure RPG sci-fi, Ferret, were completed on 15 August 2022. Try the game today and tell us what do you think of it.

- Steam have finally lifted the banhammer on Chaos;Head Noah today, which were developed by Danganronpa’s developer, MAGES, and published by Spike Chunsoft.

- As previously experienced by any newly-made account for Overwatch 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022 edition) need to use phone number via SMS Protect, no prepaid or burner phone number allowed.

- [Indie game] Try check out Stars in the Trash, a 2D platformer (consist of cats and dogs) that were inspired by animated movies, created by the developer Valhalla Cats.

- Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm celebrates 30th anniversary of Mortal Kombat by releasing movies on streaming platform, and games on mobile.

🚀Space news🌌:

- [Space & Entertainment] Tom Cruise currently want to collaborate with “Edge of Tomorrow” director, Doug Liman for an idea of making movie in space. Basically, in a preliminary idea, he will conduct EVA (Extravehicular Activity) spacewalk in a typical Tom Cruise signature to save our planet in the movie.

- Cislunar Autonomous Positioning System Technology Operations and Navigation Experiment (CAPSTONE) spacecraft were finally able to being put into full control after partial control of it’s three-axis control yesterday, determining the root of cause from one of the partially open thruster valve of eight thrusters. The spacecraft were able to align it’s solar panel to the sun and adjusted the antennas to provide great data connection to the mission control of NASA.

- Eutelsat able to find the cause of it’s satellite jamming: it’s from Iran. It caused the two broadcast satellite to get jammed from broadcasting it’s Persian-language news, potentially due to ongoing unrest protest in Iran following the death of 22-year-old Iranian woman, Mahsa Amini, who died in the police custody for being “inappropriately dressed”.

- 9 October will be the peak of Draconid meteor shower. Go outside and look for yourself of this thing.

- An interesting discovery of an explosive binary star system exist in the system known as ZTF J1813+4251, which orbits every 51 minutes, by the Zwicky Transient Facility at the Palomar Observatory, California, U.S. It is due to the fact that the white dwarf star is so compact and gravitationally strong that it were able to steal hydrogen gas from it’s companion star to convert it into helium, which as the density adds over time, it causes a not-so powerful (cataclysmic variable) thermonuclear explosion called a nova.

- Long March 11, a solid-propelled rocket modified from Dongfeng (DF)-11, were successfully launched from first time’s offshore sea (fourth flight from sea, three of which conducted from Yellow Sea), carrying CentiSpace-1 S5 & S6 on 7 October 2022.

- Meteor that impacted the outskirt city (fortunately it’s empty) of Chelyabinsk, Russia, is a chondrite type, shock-darken (as a result of high-speed atmospheric drag heat) from an asteroid, 1998 OR2.

- Can an asteroid impact destroy the entire earth? The answer is that depending on the size and the velocity of the asteroid, but in the most cases, the earth will survive. Only the species that exist on the surface, water and soil of the earth were likely wiped out in the worst case scenario.

- Apparently, according to the another research that also linked toward the idea of mega tsunami triggered by “begone-dinosaur!” asteroid, it also causes huge earthquake that lasted several months, if not years, as a result of Chicxulub impact that also somehow connecting it with another earthquake fault lines and cracks.

- SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket successfully injected Intelsat Galaxy 33 & 34 into geostationary orbit (GTO), which the satellite will further raises it’s orbit to the geostationary earth orbit (GEO).

- ASO-S (Kuafu-1), a Chinese solar observatory satellite, were successfully launched aboarding Long March 2D into a sun-synchronous orbit (SSO) 720 kilometers (450 miles) altitude.
